We are primarily interested in understanding the chemical processes by which metalloenzymes have emerged and evolved through the intricate orchestration of inorganic elements with protein environments. Therefore, we discover novel metalloenzymes, distinguish their chemical functions and mechanisms, and design ones for biocatalysis, biomaterials, and therapeutics.
